Grief – The Silent Epidemic

January 25th, 2010

Grief affects the life of every person at some point in their lives and is a silent epidemic in our society. We do not educate people to deal with loss and that the true nature of everything is impermanent. Grief is usually the condition that is associated with the death of a loved one but you can also suffer its effects due to long periods of stress and worry, the loss of a job, reactions to a traumatic event and the breakdown of a relationship.

Just because the person does not physically die does not mean that you will be immune from the effects of grief as a result of them leaving. Even lack of meaning in your life can bring on feelings of grief. Many people suffer grief as a result of their pet dying. In some cases grief can last for many years. There are 611,800 deaths in the UK every year.

The Five Stages

The general stages of grief are denial/numbness, anger/fear, bargaining, depression and finally acceptance. Each stage has its own time frame and this differs from person to person. Following a loss, a person first may be stunned or distressed with the shock. The human body releases chemicals, such as adrenalin, in response to shock. These are to help with thinking, alertness and coping with pain. The person may have physical reactions such as sleeplessness, difficulty in sitting still or concentrating and most commonly loss of appetite, tummy upset, or even chest pains – which should be checked by a doctor. Often people can feel numb or as though they are on “automatic pilot”.

The sorrow of grief saps your energy, making even simple tasks like getting out of bed in the morning, tending to personal grooming, fixing a meal or going somewhere with friends seem overwhelming and exhausting. You may feel negative and critical toward everything and everyone, including yourself.

The Double Bind

If your loved one has died then you are in what psychologists call a ‘double bind’. The very person who you would normally work problems in life out with is no longer alive. This can leave you feeling very alone and sad. Your healing process can be delayed by not expressing your feelings. Grief counselling is very helpful if not essential in these situations.

Knights With Broken Hearts

In the Middle Ages, when the Knights found their hearts broken, they were treated as being weak. Due to the display of what was then considered feminine emotions, they were not only ridiculed but also rejected from the society they lived in and at times, lost their reputations. Not until an Islamic medical text was translated into latin and then read by English physicians was broken heartedness understood and treated as something genuinely human. Chinese Medicine acknowledges grief as being one of the seven governing emotions within their medical system. When there is an excess of it, the organ most associated – the lung, is affected giving rise to asthma and chest infections. Some accupunture can help restore and support the system. Especially the blocks that might develop.

Warm Company

Times of crisis can show you who your real friends are. They are the ones coming in when everyone else is leaving during a crisis. With the loss a loved one a person can feel very much alone and the tradition of visiting the bereaved stems from the wish to alleviate this.  Just sitting with the bereaved can be of great comfort. The bereaved need to know that grief comes in stages. Facing loss alone magnifies the intensity of grief and the loneliness that it can bring.

Flower Remedies

The initial reaction to loss is usually shock. The Bach flower remedy mix ‘Rescue Remedy’ brings us quickly to a more stable state. Some people carry it with them everywhere. The remedy Star of Bethlehem contained in the remedy mixture is especially for any trauma, physical, or emotional. Dr. Bach described it as “the comforter and soother of pains and sorrows.” The Australian Bush Flower Emergency or Relationship Essence is also especially helpful in these situations. Flower remedies can transform negative emotions that have been with people for years. Bach compared his remedies to that of beautiful music or arrangements of colour, or any glorious uplifting medium that gives inspiration. His cure was not to attack the disease but to flood the body with beautiful vibrations from wild flowers and herbs in the presence of which “disease would melt away as snow in sunshine.”

Homeopathic Remedies

After the first shock, comes a parade of other emotions, or sometimes just an inner numbness or emptiness. Homeopathy can help ease a process that is going to be painful. The remedy Ignatia is the first one thought of for everyone after a loss. Especially for those who grieve outwardly through sobbing. For those caught in a double bind and who tend to send the grief inwards and suppress their emotions and who prefer to cry alone Natrum Mur is the appropriate remedy. Aurum, which is gold, was said to be the remedy needed for those who committed suicide after losing fortunes in the Great Depression. This is recommended for those who have a deeply wounded heart and those who have stopped eating and drinking in reaction to a loss.

The medical tantras of the Tibetans advice not to leave a person greiving alone. To give them gentle company and to talk of good positive things.

Herpes Emotional Relief

January 23rd, 2010

I recently revisited an old remedy I used in times of intense anxiety and distress. A very dear friend of mine is going through depression and is blocked by negative emotions. I’ve guided him toward Bach Flowers. Bach Flower Remedies are anything but traditional. They are based on the idea that the vibration of flowers and plants can be captured in remedies that can heal certain emotional states. Each plant corresponds to a certain emotional pattern and will help patients overcome emotional blockage.

Bach Flowers can help overcome a sense of loss, unfairness, shame, guilt and fear. That’s why I strongly feel that they can be of tremendous help for people with herpes. Many people write to me in a state of panic, shame and guilt, wondering about their future. Their main question is usually, “What will my life be like now?” I always try to give them reassurance that their lives can still be wonderful because it is the truth. But sometimes at first it is almost impossible for them to really believe it.

I strongly believe that herpes is emotionally and stress triggered at least 80% of the time. Worrying or obsessing about herpes can only make it worse. Up until now, I could only provide reassuring words and advise to seek counseling or join a herpes support group. Now, I can also suggest using Bach Flower Remedies for coping with the emotional turmoil that usually comes along with herpes.

If you are experiencing some of the emotions I stated earlier, like guilt, shame, and anger, here are some specific remedies that could greatly improve your emotional balance and give you back a more positive attitude toward life, as well as forgiveness and acceptance and also limit the severity and frequency of your symptoms.

Pine: Pine can help you deal with the guilt of getting herpes in the first place. Pine is for people who blame themselves for having done something wrong in the past or for being guilty for unknown reasons or for having a fault in themselves. It is usually suited for perfectionists who are never satisfied with themselves and their achievements and tend to take the blame for others. It can help you get over the burden of guilt and remorse and forgive yourself through time.

Mimulus: Mimulus is a remedy for known fears. If you feel afraid of having herpes, getting herpes in another spot or having herpes symptoms, this remedy is for you. Mimulus will work for fear of illness or pain or for any known fear, for example, telling your future partner that you have herpes. If your fear moves into terror, then you should use Rock Rose. I use mimulus with great success and recommend it to anyone who has a defined fear. It is great for shyness also. It gives you courage, reassurance and a great sense of calmness.

Rock Rose: Rock rose works against terror. If your fear of herpes or of telling a partner becomes terrifying, you can use rock rose remedy alone or combined with mimulus. It will restore calmness and courage when all your strength seems lost. Rock rose is part of the rescue remedy. It is a great combination of flower remedies originally designed by Dr. Bach. It is great in time of crises and I would recommend using it during each outbreak to ease the panic that usually goes with it.

Crab Apple: Crab apple seems perfectly designed for people with herpes. It is for people who feel dirty about themselves, obsess about certain details and suffer from a bad self-image. It is great for people with skin disorders like herpes. People who need crab apple become totally depressed during a herpes outbreak or a cold sore if the treatment is unsuccessful. Crab apples help you to restore inner harmony, focus on something else other than herpes and to acknowledge your positive qualities.

Sweet Chestnut: Sweet chestnut will help you to overcome despair, extreme anguish and hopelessness. If you feel you cannot go on with your life because you have herpes, this remedy will bring you hope, help you control your emotions and quiet mental restlessness.

Walnut: If you have acquired herpes recently, walnut will help you adapt better to this change in your life. Walnut is the remedy for important life changes. It is also for people who doubt the choices they’ve made in their lives. It will help you make the transition much better and will give you confidence to get on with your life as it was before.

Gentian: Gentian, will help you overcome discouragement after a setback. For example, if you were rejected by a potential partner or a certain remedy you had great expectations about didn’t work, gentian will help you regain faith and self-confidence to create the life you want.

Impatiens Impatiens like the name suggests, helps you tame your impatience and feelings of frustration. It will reduce the irritability and impatience you may feel during a cold sore or an outbreak. It is great for people like me who just can’t stand being sick and are extremely impatient to get well. If this is your case I strongly recommend impatiens to you. It will quiet the mental agitation caused by impatience.

Gorse: Gorse is another remedy for people who have given up belief that there is any hope for them, and tend to dwell in pessimism and depression. Gorse will treat despair more acutely than Gentian. If you think you are incurable and your life will always be miserable because of herpes, this remedy is for you.

Star of Bethlehem: Star of Bethlehem will help you recover from the shock of a herpes diagnosis. It is the remedy for unexpected bad news or unwelcome events and grief. If you feel you still haven’t recovered from the initial shock of diagnosis, Star of Bethlehem can help you overcome it, even years after diagnosis. It is also present in Dr. Bach’s rescue formula.

Oak and Olive: These are two remedies that I feel are interesting for preventing herpes infections. Oak Flower Essence – Oak, 20 ml useful for people who tend to push themselves too hard, often to the extent of exhaustion. Getting enough rest is important when you have herpes because herpes usually gets reactivated in times of fatigue or intense stress. If you recognize yourself in the oak profile, then this is a good remedy for you. Olive Flower Essence – Olive, 20 ml is the remedy for physical and mental exhaustion after too much work or a long struggle against illness. Olive will help you recuperate and restore your vitality.

Rescue Remedy: Rescue remedy is wonderful at prodrome (when the first signs of a herpes infection manifest). I use it for any illness with great success. It stops the panic and fright almost immediately. Dr. Bach’s description of the rescue remedy is the emergency remedy for cases where there appears to be no hope,in the case of accidents or sudden illness, when the patient is very frightened or terrified, or if the condition is serious enough to cause great fear to others.

The rescue remedy exists also in cream, Bach Flower Remedies Rescue Cream. It contains all the ingredients of the rescue remedy plus crab apple. It works very much like arnica cream for bumps and bruises but covers many more ailments. It is very helpful for herpes pain and other minor skin disorders. However, it cannot be substituted for treatment.

Nathalie Foy is an alternative treatment specialist. She is the author of Herpes Wise, a book which gives her step by step easy plan to eliminate genital herpes symptoms for life and answers important questions about herpes testing, transmission and prevention.

Stress Relief For Moms: What Can You Do?

January 22nd, 2010

Perhaps you’ve always thought that a toolkit was something men liked but wasn’t something you ever wanted to own for yourself. Well, if we’re talking about the clanking sort that is used to repair things then I’m not surprised. However, there is another kind of toolbox and it is the mom life saver kind, the one full of resources that you can use to give yourself a break or a quick pep up in order to continue on with what you were doing.

While the standard things like coffee, cakes, chocolate and alcohol maybe your first port of call when things get tough, they really aren’t the best things to use. There is no denying that they can be great short term fixes but they carry a price tag in the form of reduced performance later on. Instead of relying on these things to get you through it is better to find better solutions and enjoy a glass of wine because you want one not because you ‘need’ it.

What exactly ought to go in your stress relieving toolbox?

. websites that you enjoy visiting – they could be your favorite mom stress relief blogs, magazines, parenting sites, celebrity gossip – just make sure that they make you feel better about yourself and life and don’t stress you out further.

. music – get a collection of your favorite music together and keep it in one spot.

. healthy food in the fridge and freezer so you aren’t tempted to go for the quick sugar hit when you get low on energy

. flower essences – Bach’s Rescue Remedy is one you could try. You don’t have to wait until a specific event sends you into overdrive, you can try taking it morning and night as a preventative.

. essential oils – mix up your own soothing blend.

. exercise options – from stretches to relieve specific aches to full cardio workouts – match your mood to your exercise of choice.

. list of relaxing activities you enjoy and the phone numbers/contact details to make it happen. Set a page aside in your diary and list out the activities you find relaxing and your preferred venue. That way you always have options and not being able to get an appointment at your first choice won’t make you feel more stressed.

You may find it helpful to draw up a list of all the items that are in your toolkit (at least the headings, if not the full list of activities/resources) and place it somewhere you’ll see it. On the fridge, noticeboard or office wall are all good places so that when you get stressed you can instantly find relief.

Being a mother today is more demanding than ever before because we have higher expectations for our children and there are more demands on our time. Moms need stress relief! And they need it now. For stress relief tips and options visit Stress Relief

Fear of Flying and Two Easy Ways to Overcome It

January 21st, 2010

A fear of flying isn’t uncommon. To be honest, I think it should be normal. I mean, when you consider you are being hurtled through the upper layers of the atmosphere at enormous speed, in a tin cylinder – who wouldn’t be frightened?

But flying has become so common, that now it’s considered unusual to have a fear of flying. You’re told to snap out of it and given other unhelpful ‘advice’. Advice that you have already considered, but it fails to work for you.

How can you overcome this fear? Taking medication may dull you enough to be able to fly without blind panic, but does nothing to overcome the deep rooted fear.

And being dulled doesn’t help you stay in touch with your intuition. And this, largely ignored emotion, can be your guide, if only you would listen to it.

Meditation can go a long way to help calm you and melt away irrational fears, while keeping you alert and open to your inner feelings. And I encourage everyone to meditate regularly. It doesn’t have to mean sitting in a lotus position and chanting for half an hour. It can be as simple as sitting quietly, closing your eyes, and allowing your mind to drift.

Just a few minutes of this on a regular basis, throughout every day, can do wonders for your overall peace of mind. And you can do it anywhere – in the airport lounge, sitting in the park, on the train, in a taxi, even when you are stuck at traffic lights.

Another great way to help you with any anxiety or fear is to take the Bach flower remedy Rescue Remedy. This is a deep, but gentle way to overcome any fear. And you can’t overdose on Rescue Remedy.

If you are a bit embarrassed by frequently taking a dose, you can put a couple of drops in your water bottle. Them each time you take a sip of water, you also get the remedy.

Over time, your fear of flying will diminish and may disappear altogether.

Free Monthly Horoscope for June 2009

January 20th, 2010

Aries – (March 20 – April 19) It’s about time you got that raise, Aries. I know you’ve been amazingly productive and agonizingly efficient; finally your well deserved bonus is set for delivery.  Mars trine Pluto on the 4th holds a promise of financial opportunity. New horizons on the job come with a new set of responsibilities, however. Take them on in your best fashion – delegate. Really, that is part of your cosmic job description. You are a leader and an initiator; so it’s ok to ask for and receive help in the detail department. Plus, travel may become a new part of your world. Again, ask for assistance; you need someone to help with all of the new demands which are entering into your realm. The New Moon of June 22nd brings substance to irrevocable changes. Move ahead with spiritual grace and all of your physical vitality.

Taurus – (April 20 – May 20) Hopefully you have cleaned out those closets and shredded the old papers; it’s time for the NEW kid in town to debut. Old situations have simply served their purposes, and it’s time to let them go. Not always easy for Taurus, I know. The secret to success lies in your ability to move ahead with joy and a sense of freedom. If everything in your life looks the same, it’s time to do something wild and crazy. To make it easier, the stars are lending their grace of perfect timing this month. Release doubt and embrace motion. Strategic days to take action are June 8th, the 18th  & 19th , and the 22nd & 23rd. The first quarter moon in Libra on the 29th is your time to check in on how you’re doing on your new self-creation. The questions to ask are: are you having fun? And, have you made the necessary changes?

Gemini – (May 21 – June 20) I’ll bet you’re happy Mercury is direct this month! So, you cleaned up old stuff in May, and now you are clear and ready for action. The Universe supports your decision with a stellar sextile, the aspect of opportunity, from Venus to Jupiter on the 2nd. My insider secret – there was never a better month for networking, as friends and acquaintances serve to propel you along your career path. (One exception is if you were born May 28 or 29 – a friend may disappoint you) The Full Moon of June 7th highlights your 7th house of personal and business partnerships, too, so get out early and often. If you’re looking for a new work situation, this is the perfect month to seal the deal, but not until the 23rd. Keep the news to yourself on the 26th, when everything you say comes out wrong; just stay home that day, or give yourself an early vacation. By the 30th, everybody is happy again.

Cancer(June 21 – July 21) No doubt you feel as though you have given all that you can and it’s time to renew yourself. If you can just shift into overdrive, and move into that space of efficiency while maintaining inner relaxation, you will be fine. I predict a culmination of the situation with the Full Moon of June 7th.  This was a major phase of your karmic duty; one which you can look back upon and know that you did your best. The 18th and 19th are excellent days to unwind, find a secret cove by the sea and plan some cozy meals with someone who really understands you. The 22nd brings a New Moon in your sign, and this one brings a major new beginning. Tend to necessary business early in the week, because regardless of your best efforts to communicate, you will be misunderstood on the 26th. Your rewards are coming!

Leo – (July 22 – August 22) Your instincts are sharp now, Leo. This intuition, combined with your skills and knowledge can make you practically unstoppable. As the revered asteroid goddess Pallas Athena finally moves into your sign, it’s time to put that long held dream into action. One of her teachings is that of creating practical gifts which serve others; things like pottery, weaving, and finalizing your web site which offers easy access to purchases. Then, you really harvest her gifts. This month is more of a time for behind the scenes work, however. The New Moon of June 22 initiates your solar 12th house of solitude and service, and the eclipses of July will open a door to plans gone awry. Preparation serves you well now; get ready for a late August debut.

Virgo – (August 23 – September 22) Being co-ruled by Mercury and the modern asteroid Chiron, your sign is one of delicate balance. You must be discriminating because if you are not, clarity leaves and chaos reigns. Some questions simply remain unanswered now, and antagonizing your mind for an answer is counterproductive. Instead, try deep relaxation on a moment to moment basis; when you feel that inner rubber band tighten up – breathe, and let go. That way, you can take advantage of the good things coming your way this month! On June 4th, Mars and Pluto give you intensity and drive, and on the 8th, Venus helps you shine in a big way. With both Mars and Venus in Taurus, earth signs have the blessings of flow and constancy right now. It’s just that sometimes we don’t know a good thing when we have it. Relax, get some Bach Flower Rescue Remedy, and get ready to rock -n- roll.

Libra – (September 23 – October 21) Falling off a log is easy, but wading out of the water is not so much fun. Have you been sleeping, Libra? The waves have been slapping a gentle rhythm on your hull, keeping in time with the mermaid’s song. It all looks so good on paper, but what about the elbow grease required to power the monkey wrench. Darn, I hate it when that happens. Hold a steady course. These setbacks are only temporary, and you are learning more and more about how to set sail and chart your course to freedom. Your vision is pure. Pay attention on the 17th when you are presented with a stellar partnership opportunity which solidifies by the 30th. One shining light of the upcoming New Age is that you will never again walk alone, unless it is by choice.

Scorpio – (October 22 – November 21) Put it together, Scorpio – put IT together. Somebody is waiting for your input. Like the mythological Jason on his quest for the Golden Fleece, you have met with tests and challenges. However, you have also had divine intervention and assistance, especially when you remembered to ask for it. And, like Jason, you can benefit from good practical advice. Unfortunately, Jason died alone, a victim of his own disloyalty to the goddess Medea. As we move into a rectification of heaven and earth, please consider that the old stories no longer apply. A test of loyalty is just that – a test. And I know you can pass it with flying colors. Your most powerful detractor is your own self doubt; and your desire for a private life. Soon, you will have your cake, and you can eat it too!

Sagittarius – (November 22– December 20) Does it seem that these are the best and worst of times, and often in the same day? So much of this boils down to facts and figures, and I have a nagging feeling that you are not getting the whole story. When you look closely, you will find that what is missing provides as much information as the details which are presented. Saturn deals the winning hand here; this translates into holding the course and building upon what you have already established. This is NOT a good month for long distance travel, either. Thankfully, it looks like your wanderlust is under control right now. Sometimes the KISS solution is the most obvious; this is one of those times.

Capricorn – (December 21 – January 19) Wouldn’t it be great if we could just buy our own printing presses and manufacture money? The right idea which helps you earn necessary money has come to fruition; this is centered in a past lifetime skill which you have already mastered and are now ready to bring forth as a contribution to your prosperity. And, currency is only a part of the picture. As you play your cards, you create something slightly different – how about a bartering empire? The 8th, 9th, and 10th, when the Moon is in your sign this month, are good days to put your plans to paper. I see you moving off the ‘grid’ and into self sufficiency; leaning more on trades and goods and moving away from just cash. This shift is not just for you. It also serves others, yet the beauty of this is that it deepens your own skills and abilities.

Aquarius – (January 20 – February 17) With Jupiter and Neptune dancing together in your sign, the past few months have no doubt brought on some roller coaster rides. Together, apart, and back again; some great days, and some – not so good ones. Neptune is a difficult planet, especially for you, a sign ruled in ancient astrology by structured and predictable Saturn. With Jupiter in the mix, you want to do your best. Things are going good, and then damn, there comes the x-factor, and your efforts evaporate. Practice your new level of authority on the 11th when unruly factions rise up; they really just need strong leadership. Consider taking on the role of high priest or priestess. You must transcend your logical mind with its perceived limitations to deepen your mantle of power. And, this is core spiritual work, not just donning a robe and scepter.

Pisces – (February 18 – March 19)  Just a little bit of strategic planning goes a long way now, Pisces. The pieces will fit together like a grand puzzle if you only participate in the play, and you receive a major portion on the 13th. You can take the role either of a game master, or an innocent bystander. The bystander is at the mercy of the whims of others; the master makes his or her moves in fitting fashion. Some people master these maneuvers early in life, however, self destructive tendencies still keep them returning to bystander mode.  The core issue is your readiness to move into new levels of power and self acceptance. And, the problem is that there is really nowhere else to go; it’s either up or down because this moving sideways has run its course. Your creativity peaks on the 22nd; make it real on the 23rd.

How to Overcome Panic Attacks and Stress

January 18th, 2010

Most experts agree that our modern life style is frequently to blame for the extra levels of stress in our lives: less exercise, a breakdown in family support and communication, more pressure at work; it is hardly surprising these facts aggravate the problem. This results in stress being among the top ten most common ailments suffered in the UK.

A certain amount of stress in life is beneficial, however, long term stress can have an adverse effect on our well-being. Consider this fact: a stressed person’s body will produce excess adrenaline, resulting in an increase in heart beat, along with higher blood pressure. Depression, low libido, anxiety, hair loss, eczema and irritable bowel, can all be attributed to stress, resulting in a figure as high as 90% of visits to the doctor being stress-related.

A stimulant gives you short term energy by inducing a stress reaction. In order for your body to have the energy to respond to its perceived state of stress, it is usual to eat or drink more, resulting more often than not in an increase in blood pressure. This is known as a ‘fight or flight’ reaction and originated in pre-history when stress was caused by something like meeting a sabre-toothed tiger round the corner and having the option of fighting it or running away. The action of running away or fighting would use up the extra energy generated by the stress and return the body to its normal, non-stressed state.

Modern stresses tend not to be resolved by physical actions such as running away. In the wenty-first century men and women are more likely to be stressed in a traffic jam, or when meeting with their financial advisor. So the body remains stressed for longer, with no way of resolving it. In a state of stress, the body stops repairing itself, so that it can concentrate on reacting to the perceived stress. For an occasional stressful event this isn’t a problem, but he long-term result is that the more you stress your body, the less your body repairs itself and the faster you will age.

Avoiding stress is all very well in theory, but many people have worries that they can’t resolve, and statistics report that one in every twenty people have such problems that they suffer from panic attacks.

Panic attacks can be described as an intense surge of anxiety creating physical symptoms such as irregular heartbeat, chest pains, choking, sweating, trembling or feelings of being smothered, which can be extremely frightening.

Conventionally, sufferers may be prescribed tranquillizers, but some of these can have unpleasant side-effects including appetite loss, headaches, vision disorders and even seizures. On completion of drug therapy, patients may suffer from withdrawal symptoms such as agitation, blurred vision, dizziness, irritability and others, so many prefer to try natural alternatives before resorting to drugs.

Certain every-day substances can act as stressors – for instance: caffeine (in coffee and some fizzy drinks), sugar (including that in alcohol) and cigarettes. These should be avoided.

Beyond eliminating the above stimulants, many people like to take a natural remedy. Possibly the simplest of these is the Bach Flower “Rescue Remedy”, readily available at most pharmacists.

Another natural alternative that has been used for relieving anxiety, stress and restlessness is Kava Kava, a staple Polynesian traditional medicine, shown in numerous scientific studies to effectively reduce both general and menopausal anxiety. It acts on the limbic system, the brain’s most primitive system, which is associated with control of the emotional state. If taken with other drugs possessing tranquillising/sedative effects (e.g. benzodiazepines, butryrophenones) necessitate medical supervision in order to establish the optimum dosage.

With Kava being banned in some countries, the individual should conduct their own research as to whether its use is both safe and legal.

In the UK, at the time of writing (2009) L-Theanine, an amino acid found almost exclusively in green tea, is growing in popularity as an alternative to Kava Kava. Green tea is the second most popular drink in the world (after water) and has long been known as a relaxing beverage. Scientists now believe that both its taste and relaxing properties are attributable to its L-Theanine content. It is available in the UK from Solgar. http://www.solgar.co.uk/modules/shop/view.asp?catid=1&Prodcode=E2706

Websites I have researched are unclear about safety and legality so a safer and more tailored approach is to visit a professionally qualified homeopath or herbalist; either will take a detailed case history and recommend the best individual formulation for your circumstances.

Please note that no-one taking medication prescribed by their GP should take any additional products without his supervision, nor should they alter any instructions or dosages for their medication.

Alternatively, a life coach or counselor could help you explore stressful issues and circumstances in your life, with a view to reacting differently and thereby reducing stress and panic attacks.
